When is the deadline for news/ads?
The deadline for both news and ad items is Monday at 5 p.m., except on some holidays, when early deadlines will be announced ahead of time in the paper.

When does the paper come out?
The paper comes out in newsstands every Wednesday and is delivered to subscribers on Thursday. We are a weekly paper.

Can I submit an engagement, wedding, or anniversary?
Yes. The deadline is the same as for news and advertising, Monday at 5 p.m. There is a $5 charge if there is a picture included; without a photo, there is no fee. If you are sending the photo through the mail and would like it back, be sure to include a self-addressed stamped envelope. Your engagement, wedding, or anniversary will be published in The Mayville/Lomira News and the Horicon Reporter.

How do I get my letter to the editor published?
All letters to the editor must be signed by the writer and include an address and phone number for verification. However, you may request your letter to be published without your name. Letters are limited to a maximum of 500 words. Editing to conform to this length is the privilege of the editor. No capitalization, underlining, italics, or other special formatting will be used in a letter. The editor reserves the right to refuse a letter based on the potential for financial liability through lawsuit or based on letters being unfair to those involved. Only one letter from an individual will be accepted on a single issue unless the editor believes a response is appropriate and fair. Thank you notes are not considered letters to the editor.
